Group classes are held every Friday from 8:00pm to 9:15pm at River Oaks Pilates Studio  3425 South Shepherd Dr, Ste. 220 Houston, TX 77098 (On Shepperd, one block north of Richmond.    Classes are focused on the understanding of the underlying structure of tango emphasizing its improvisational nature. The student will be introduced to the basic concepts in a progressive way rather than by memorizing patterns. Like when we learn a language, the best approach is to introduce the structure (grammar) and elements (words) so the student will be able to put together his/her own movements (sentences) while dancing. Social tango is a dance danced with other people around, navigation of the floor is part of the tango learning. The student will learn to work and dance within the space he/she creates and to control where one ends up as opposed to other methods where the movements dictate where one goes and ends up.
